Civil Engineering

I welcome you to the Department of Civil Engineering of Achariya College of Engineering Technology. The vibrant Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2010 and has grown into a fully-fledged laboratory facilities and specialization in all major areas of Civil Engineering. The Department is specialized in the areas of Planning, Design, Construction & Management, Geotechnical and Geological Technology. Department of Civil Engineering provides industrial exposure through In-plant training in various governmental and private sectors. We also provide additional survey training and software training like CADD, STAAD Pro, Etab etc.

Every year we conduct symposium to enrich student’s knowledge, managerial capacity and attitudes. We take care for the slow learners by conducting special classes. We strive to ensure that our undergraduate students understand professional ethics and value of service to their profession and serve through involvement in community, state and international organizations. We also train our students in various competitive examinations such as GATE, IES etc.

Many of the Alumni hold prestigious position in leading academic institutions, Industry, Governmental and Non-Governmental sectors in all over the world.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, harbours, buildings and ensure that the houses live in are structurally sound as well as improving the lives of people. By continuously developing infrastructures and upgrading the services and facilities to the public, with a sense of responsibility towards humanity for well-being of the society. Hence Civil Engineers are backbone and an integral part of society, without them a society could not function. Civil Engineering is s a very diverse profession and offers a wide range of activities across a variety of disciplines such as Surveying, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transport Engineering Remote Sensing & GIS Applications and Hydraulic Engineering etc . Civil engineering focuses on the application of physical and scientific principles for solving the problems of society, and its history is intricately linked to knowledge of structures, materials science, geography, geology, soil mechanics, hydrology and advance in understanding of physics and mathematics.
